11th Annual Smoke Detector Battery Exchange

The Wooster Firefighters Local 764 and the Wooster Division of Fire are pleased to announce our 11th annual “Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries” program on November 5th, 2011.

Members of Firefighters Local 764 will be available to assist any City of Wooster resident with the exchange of their smoke detector batteries, insuring that the primary method of notification in the event of a residential fire is intact. The smoke detector’s batteries, replacement, and testing of the unit’s function will be provided free of charge.

Interested City residents may register by calling the Wooster Fire Division business line at 330-263-5266 and providing name, address, and number of smoke detectors to be serviced. Registration ends November 2 at 5:00 pm.

We will be changing batteries on November 5th between the hours of 9am-noon & 1pm-4pm.

Please assist us in keeping you safe by registering.

Pizza on wheels...

The fine folks from the Gold Wing Riders club stopped by to show their thanks and donated a number of pizzas, which we then distributed to both stations, Dispatch, and our co-workers at Wooster Community Hospital ED.

We look forward to participating in their annual Teddy Bear Run on July 31 at 1300, when Engine 134 will lead a procession of motorcycles from the fairgrounds to WCH to donate Teddy Bears for pediatric patients.

Our community is blessed to have folks such as this, leading the way by example
